United Way "Day of Caring" 2008
|
| Compeer participated in the 16th Annual United Way "Day of Caring" on August 20, 2008. Since its inception this event has partnered not-for-profit organizations (like Compeer) with volunteers from local businesses to complete hands-on service projects. The benefits have been enormous for all involved: agencies receive needed assistance in completing projects, volunteers feel fulfilled and learn about the valuable services being provided, ongoing partnerships between agencies and corporations are built and sustained, and the community benefits through the mobilization and efforts of thousands of volunteers.
This years project was a "BACK TO SCHOOL" theme which included putting together care packages for youth at Compass House in need of some extra support as they return back to school in the fall. Compeer of Greater Buffalo would like to once again personally the many individuals and organizations which made this day possible through their generous donations! Special thanks also to the employees from Customs and Border Protection who helped assemble the care packages. We are all looking forward to another great event next year! Stay Tuned...
